Well what a year it’s been! When the year commenced I promised myself that 2013 would not be an unlucky year, but instead a year of prosperity – and that it certainly was! Musically it’s been incredible and the bits in between have been phenomenal from all the travelling (albeit in short bursts) to meeting some incredible people. With that said here’s a timeline of my 2013.
January – Went to the NME Tour after party in Brixton in Intune Addicts assiting with their act Everywhere
February – My first piece of radio for BBC Introducing in the West was aired – an interview with Cirencester band Ethemia
March – Modelled as Twiggy for the day for Photography Monthly magazine and went to my first horses races at the one and only Cheltenham races.
April – Launched my new show on Stroud FM Teacakes and Talk, the first show featured Ethemia and The Fabulous Baker Brothers and also travelled to Berlin for the launch of the Olympus Pen.
May – Radio document about the Stroud Music scene aired on BBC Introducing in the West
June – Burst my Glastonbury cherry and watched The Rolling Stones on my 23rd birthday and broadcast with BBC Introducing in the West for their Glastonbury special
July – Broadcast with BBC Introducing in the West from 2000 Trees Festival working on their live OB and met Frank Turner! Went to Amsterdam for my birthday treat and stayed in the same hotel that John Lennon and Yoko Ono did their bed in for peace.
August – Went on holiday to Stockholm and Barcelona
September – Went on a private plane to Belfast for the launch of Olympus’ new flagship camera the OM-D E-M1
October – Interviewed Brian May at the Cheltenham Literature Festival about his book Diableries: Stereoscopic Adventures in Hell and spoke about what is next for him musically. The Teacakes and Talk show began its frequent spotlight on the Community Radio Show on BBC Radio in the West.
November – Interviewed Ted Dwane from Mumford and Sons at his first solo photography exhibition in London
December – Invited by BBC Introducing in the West to broadcast with them at Maida Vale for their first show of 2014
