Well what do you know I’ve popped my Glastonbury cherry, and what a year to go! Not only did I cry my little eyes out watching Mumford and Sons, The Rolling Stones happened to be playing at my 23rd birthday party (how convenient). As this was my first proper festival where I camped longer than one night, the to-pack lists were ginormous and my petit Mini certainly struggled with all our bags, but we made it! Not only was I there as a punter I also got to broadcast with BBC Introducing West which was an incredible experience interviewing bands The Drystones, Bert Miller, The Animal Folk and strangely Loyd Grossman (who would have thought he was in a band), this was one experience I could finally tick of my life bucket list.
We couldn’t have been luckier with the weather and although my wellies got a battering, my sunburnt shoulders took more of the heat. So on that note…take suncream and toilet roll (naturally) and leave your sense of hygiene at home – you’re not going to need it.
Highlights: All the headlines of course – Arctic Monkeys, Mumford and Sons, The Rolling Stones – Ben Howard, Matt Corby, Laura Mvula, Dizzie Rascal.
If you too were just as surprised to hear that Loyd Grossman is in a rockband, hear the foody talk about it here
