Soundtrack to my week: 20/01/13

One thing I have learned this week is to listen to the weatherman. Content that I was going to get to work on Friday as easy as pie, how wrong was I. So amidst the snow I was able to hunt down some new music to spend using my leftover iTunes voucher and this is what has kept me going over the weekend, along with some old favourites too.

Labrinth – Climb on Board

I’ve always liked Labrinth, good driving music and he’s a darn good singer too! One of the tracks off his current album it’s definitely one of my favourites.

Ellie Goulding – Explosion

Spotted on a recent ITV advert this beaut of a song from Ellie Goulding is stunning and epic all in one bundle of goosebump joy.

Jimmy Eat World – Sweetness

Something from my youth played out on this week’s radio show, used to love Jimmy Eat World in my teens and was a nice track to reminisce with during the Saturday show.

The 1975 – The City

Free download of the week, I’m starting to take a liking to The 1975, guitar music staying strong, long live the strings.

Canary Swing – Rocket Radio

Supporting Young Kato at Gloucester Guildhall on Friday this local band were a pleasure to listen to and this acoustic track is a great reflection of their song writing, must see live band.
