It’s the news we’ve been waiting for and to most it came as a complete surprise. Dave Grohl is to rejoin Queens of the Stone Age for their next studio album.
Announced on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 show, the album is set to be released next June. Frontman Josh Homme confirmed that Grohl was the only man for the job after the departure of former drummer Joey Castillo.
It was also announced earlier today that Queens of the Stone Age will be performing at the 2013 Download Festival at Donnington Park.
Grohl previously featured on 2002’s ‘Songs For The Deaf’. The new, as yet untitled album will be the band’s sixth, and first since 2007’s ‘Eva Vulgaris’
